I think I am finally going to invest in a flat bed scanner for medium and large format negatives. I am looking at the Epson Perfection 4990 Photo versus the 4990 Pro. Near as I can tell the difference is in the bundled software with the Pro, plus of course an additional $190.
If I have Photoshop already do I need any additional software to make my scanning life easier? If so what software do you reccomend?
I have negative sizes of 645, 6x6, 6x7, 6x9 in medium format plus 3x4, 4x5 and 5x7 in large format. Maybe some day 8x10. Of course I have 35mm also but I have just been having the local mini-lab scan them with their Fuji frontier.
Should I save the $190 and buy the lower priced scanner? Or is this false economy on my part?
Thanks!
