OT: Good News!

The book is an essay on a Nicaraguan poet, regarded as a kind of T. S. Eliot in Spanish American literature: Rubén Darío.
I had no idea. Wow. I of course studied his works; among the greats as Amado Nervo, Ramón López Velarde, Gabriela Mistral, Juan Ramón Jiménez, José Martí, and my paisano (literally, from the same city), Manuel José Othón.

Have you ever heard of Ulalume González de León? If you have, then I shall bow before thee...

Because the significance of the book is that it allows me to get tenure! 🙂
Tenure! That's even better than being published. It's even better than a Custom Metallic® Series Kitchen Aid with the Grain Mill and the Ice Cream Maker!

Some of you may remember that last year I announced that my activity in this board was going to decrease because I had to work on my academic book (if not... that's fine, my activity didn't decrease much either).

Well... I finished the thing, submitted it to a couple of places, and one of them accepted it for publication. I just learned about it yesterday! 🙂

And if this weren't enough... I also went and got us our V-day Gift: a heavy KitchenAid stand mixer! 😀

So... life is good, no matter how ugly the weather looks! 😉

Just wanted to share... Thanks for your patience!

congradulations on the book and my condolences to your wife, life partner or ummer which ever title is correct 😀
