I like OM bodies, and I like Jupiter zonnar clones for charakter. Is it possible to find J8/J9 in OM mount? What I came accross is M42 jupiters and M42 to OM body adapter (Jolos?). Did anybody tryed it either way? Do you know of any other zonnars in OM mount? I'am looking for that very distinctive bokeh and old fashioned look.

Igor, if there is indeed an adaptor to mount an M42 lens on an OM body you should be OK -- though I have never heard of one myself. You may lose meter coupling but if it gives you infinity focus then that's the important thing.

I have used the M42 J-9 on a Canon F1 with an adapter and on Minolta SRTs with the Minolta/M42 adapter, but I never found an OM to M42 adapter yet.

Another route is to sell the J-9, combined with the price of the adapter, should be enough to get you a real Zuiko OM 85mm/2.
That lens will not lose out to the Jupiter on the "character" department

All M42 J9's are manual stopdown only anyhow, so as long as the registry distance is correct, you should be good to go.
I've never seen an M42 J8.

OM-M42 adapter needs an optical element to allow infinity focus and that hurts quality...
Sold mine long ago. I'm still keeping the Zuiko 85/2.

I recently got the Jolos M42 - OM adapter with the hopes of using a J-9 among other character FSU lenses. All I can say is I'm disappointed in this product. Infinity cannot be focused, so unless you are into macro work or close portraits I'd just pass on it.
Better yet, get a Pentax with M42 and then enjoy that good time J-9 feeling.
Cheers,

Igor, I followed your link and had a look at the rest of the site. Found this:

It's not Jupiter-9-in-m42-cheap, though!

Well, at a second glance it seems that that was just an M42 Jupiter 9 with the adapter included, and not a Jupiter 9 adapted for M42...
