OT New 6x17 Direct View Digital Camera

Not exactly a rangefinder, but this new 6x17 digital camera takes Schneider or Rodenstock large format lenses and will allow you to shoot 160MPix pictures (7,500 pixels vertically x 21,250 pixels horizontally). Two slight problems: first, this is a scanning camera, so no candid shots, and second the price, which should be almost 30,000 Euros, according to Luminous Landscape. Ouch!

Claims a 1 sec scanning time producing 16 megapixels. Add a third problem, the physical of it hardly makes it "mobile". It's like taking a picture with a skateboard, minus the wheels!

I think the D3 Roundshot 360 pano digital solution looks more viable. A lot more megapixels for the same price.
