Stopped in at St. Vinnies today and while I didn't find myself anything quite on a par with the Prominent of awhile back I did find myself a new SLR. A folding SLR, that is... 😀
As in a very nice first version Polaroid SX-70 with a nice leather everready case. I can remember wanting one of these badly when the ads first showed up in the early '70s, but there was no way my family was going to spend ~$200 on a camera in those days. But now I can get it for $5.00 😉
Film is a bit more annoying. You can still find Time Zero if you look hard enough, but they are ending production this quarter. OTOH, with a little futzing it is possible to use 600 film in it. I did a bit of testing with a pack of 600 and it works well with an appropriate ND filter on the lens.
Just a neat little toy. If I can get a filter attached to lens and figure out how to "adjust" a couple of springs, there's quite a bit of life left in the old girl. If nothing else, I can imagine my 4 year old son will get a kick out of burning through those $1.50 a shot pics... :bang: :bang: :bang:
