Hey Jan,

We had a little snow here in Denver last night and thought it would be a good opportunity to stay in, light the fire, and cook up a pot of soup... I remembered your post and I must say that the recipe is a winner!!! Not only did it fill my appartment with that wonderful home-cooked soup smell, but while it was simmering I bumped into a neighbour in the hall who said that it smelled delicious... Usually a pot of soup will last me a couple of weeks frozen into portions, but I think this one will be gone before it makes it to the freezer! It will definitely become a regular on my winter soup rotation!
