Ok I admit it, I´m Brainwashed when it comes to SLR, if it´s not Nikon, it´s no good.
Did some cleaning in the office this week, and in the big archive (a big room which the lights off, so we don´t see the mess ) and someone found a camera between all the papers.
A Praktica MTL 50, which after changing batteries still does not work, probably something with the shuttler . . ?

But what made me interested was two of the lenses :

Flektogon auto 2,4/35 MC, Carl Zeiss Jena DDR and
MC s 1:3,5f = 135 MC, Carl Zeiss Jena DDR.

Think they are M42.
And i have no camera that fits.
Was also a Pentacon auto 1,8/50 multicoted, non working iris.
And according to my plan I had just left the SLR world 🙂

So , anyone for comments or ideas ?

The Flektogon and 135/3.5 CZJ lenses are both excellent lenses. So is the Pentacon 50/1.8. Some say the optical formula is the same as the CZ 50/1.8 Pancolar. Great find!

These are M42 lenses. Just get a working M42 body and you are all set. You may want to check out the "Bessaflex" thread from yesterday.

Both the 35mm Flektogon and the 135mm "S" (Sonnar) are excellent lenses as ray_g says.

The MTL-50 is a European version of the MTL-5 export model and the battery is only for the meter. The shutter is 100% mechanical. If the shutter doesn't work, it still may be easily fixed by someone who knows about these cameras. Prakticas are good cameras.

The three lenses are worth buying an M42 mount body to use them on. The stuck iris leaves on the 50mm shouldn't be difficult to get working again.

I have a MTL-5 and it is indeed a great camera. I got mine for $11.50 for the body only in almost perfect condition. I suggest looking through the posts from a few weeks ago and find the m-42 thread that many of us contributed to. If you can find someone t fix it it would be worth getting this baby repaired. The MTL-5/50 was a much saught after camera in it's day.
