Hi folks, I recently had to change my RFF email address to my work email, because my emails just stopped coming in... no notifications, no PMs, no thread subscrptions... I was at one point getting them, so I contacted godaddy, which just so happens to be the email hosting I have, and this is what I got:

so, questions is, is anyone having these issues with godaddy or is it just me?

godaddy is a low budget, low availability service. It's often free if you find coupon codes, so you get what you pay for, hopefully no one paid godaddy anything.

For reliability, run your own mail server.

I just use godaddy.com for domain registration. I have worked with clients that use them for hosting as well as email, and they seemed professional and responsive. Have you tried calling them? The person answering the phone might not be able to help directly, but since you ARE paying them for email services, and since you aren't getting the benefits of said payments, they should make at least a token effort to resolve the issue without resorting to form letters and parrotting back policy statements.

I also use GoDaddy hosting and had a similar problem. Someone finally recieved a bounced message and it had to do with the GoDaddy mail server default setting that didn't allow won-Western characters (i.e. Unicode-16 character set)...

To resolve the issue I went into the mail account administration and set "[FONT=arial, helvetica, sanserif]Accept non-Western (Latin) Messages?" to "Yes".

See if this helps.

yeah, thanks, tried that early on... still, no go. I'm hoping Jorge picks up on this cuz it's annoying as hell.
