No C.Z. on the lens.

Why would it have C.Z. on the lens as Sony took over Konica Minotla's camera division. It will more likely have Rokkor on it (actually, Minolta dropped the Rokkor awhile ago).

It looks like it will be both - DT is a Minolta lens designation which it what is on the lens mounted on the body.

Why does everybody feel 'news' has to be streaming video? Your average press release already has a low enough content to bandwidth ratio without making it video. I gave up waiting for the thing to download after hearing the first few seconds. Rah Rah Rah, another player yipee! ours is better but we wont tell you why, because its just a rebagdged something else.

As a "Nikonian" I am happy that an 800 pound gorilla has just entered the room. The suggested price for the new Sony is what the D200 should be nearer too. Lots of luck to Sony.

Yes, I hear you - but my fear is that Nikon, a simple little optics company ( 🙂 ), lacks the resources to stay in the game against the "big boys" coming in.

I dunno what it is now. I paid somewhat less that $600 for the *ist DS body only from Cameta Camera in Amityville, NY (great company). Price dropped quite a bit, but now the *ist DS is getting thin on the ground - we have the *ist DS2, the *ist DL2, the clone Samsungs, and I guess now the Pentax K100D and K110D, which are replacing the *ist line and the K100D has anti-shake as well. Something like $600 ~ $700 with a kit lens. The Olympus Evolt 500 is even less and is 8 mp. The Sony is 10 mp though. Hmmm.
