I have been a long time stalker on RFF I admit, and every time I scooted through the forums I would inevitably stumble across someone mentioning how they had just developed/were souping/thought that Rodinal was great. "What is this amazing Rodinal everyone talks about?!" I thought (having only just got through my second bottle of Ilfotec DDX I'm still a bit of a darkroom newbie!) and so once I finished my current developer I decided to send for some Rodinal just to see what all the fuss was about...
Of course, being stubborn, after reading it was a really nice on slow films the first film I selected for some home Rodinal-ing was a roll of HP5 pushed to 1600asa. I've never really been bowled over with pushed films so I was expecting grain the size of golf balls and negatives so thin there was black, white and pretty much nothing in between, but instead my developing, the film, and my lovely new Rodinal seems to have come up trumps! Lots of greys, nice grain (noticeably differnent from the Ilford or is it my mind playing tricks on me?) and it only cost me 11ml of my developer instead of the usual 60ml shot!

So here it is, my thank you to RFF for another bit of great (subliminal!) advice 😀

Just an example... not a good shot by any means (my friend just bought a 4x4 and wanted a few random shots of it!) but it shows what I have been rambling about!
