Ya know.. thanks to the lot of you here I own more gear than I could want. I have just enough cameras to use regularly and enjoy using them. I never feel like a camera is "neglected" since they all get regular workouts.

Whenever I have questions about any gear or technique, you guys are there to answer the questions.

Jorge and this site have made my foray back into the rangefinder world a happy and fulfilling one.

But

Now there is a bit of a problem.
Due to my frequenting the site and reloading that home page regularly, I consistently see the sponsor advertisements staring me directly in the face. For the most part, I'm able to ignore them because, well, I look past them and say "Nah.. I don't 'need' that".. but recently.. I see Tony Rose's mug staring at me, taunting me, showing me the Zeiss Ikon and I can hear him say
"Come on Dave.. you know you're going to want this !! Look how nice and shiny and new it is Dave!! You can have it because we've got a special on right now and we're even including CANADA Dave..... come on Dave.. take out that credit card.."
I really think I'm going to go insane if he continues to pester me like this 😉

Slowly losing it,
Dave

you are so right dave!

a nice black zeiss ikon to use along side those many leicas you now have.

a longer baselength, an incredible finder, larger and more clear than anything you have ever looked through. and, oh my goodness, lenses that focus so smoothly it's hard to comprehend without trying it yourself.

and tony and the popflash gang, great customer service and i know for a fact that tony loves canada and canadians.

ya know ya want it...

😉joe

Dave, Dave, Dave...
May I suggest that you enroll in the Kmack school of CSB. Just send me $500 a month and in one short year I will have cured you of your gear buying addiction.

Well, this is the reason I got rid of my Leica "morph" screen saver: I thought I was receiving some sort of subliminal message whenever it kicked in...

You could always embrace the "there can be only one," philosophy, thus selling everything and buying the mighty Ikon. The black one. 😎

I could do that, but then I'd feel somewhat "naked" without my Leicas..

I think it would be more a feng shui thing... cleansing ya know... 😉

Whew, I feel so much better now knowing that it is YOU that has been the object of Tony's taunting.

I thought it might be me!

Now I can go back to dreaming of finding a pristine SP for low dollars and remaining true to my Nikonian faith! 😀

Dave: repeat after me: it's the lenses. You don't need a new camera body. You need new _lenses_. There -- now don't you feel better?

In all seriousness: there never was a purchase of camera gear that I regretted long.
There never was a sale of camera gear to which I ever fully reconcilled myself.

When I see Tony's face, I think to myself "There is a guy who LOVES cameras. I wished he lived next door to me. We would just me grabbing different cameras every weekend and going off using them". But I still blew more money than that getting the Latest SP. But Tony would have done the same thing, I know it.

Dave, you clearly have been insane for many months.. no point in trying to hold back or justify anything now.. besides somebody has to set a bad example so the rest of us can say "don't be that guy!" 😀

No! Because I do need new lenses! I guess it's a good thing I've got no money to spend on them. In a sad way anyway.
