I actually bought the 50 Planar that RFF'er benroy was selling (LNIB with hood for $550 shipped!). I bought it because sometimes the collapsible Summicron bugs me (I forgot to extend it, lock it in, etc. plus it has infinity lock). I was going to get a rigid 'Cron but this came up at a good deal. But then it got me hankerin' for a Zeiss...

..... and I've heard that with the black ZI the percentage of publishable shots per film increases from 1-5% to 90-95%!!!

No doubt it would pay for itself in a very short time. 😉 A bargain at twice the price.

And... It's quite possible we should rethink the thread about "RFF Attitudes." A thread that speaks of the taunting of one poor RFF soul gets over 900 hits … with all the camaraderie of jackals on a wounded gazelle.

Dave I dunno much about HEGR but .. Look at it this way

- in the right hand a Zeiss at $XXXX dollars
- in the left hand a Leica MP at $(XXXX) 1.75 times more dollars

And both are in Black... unless you want to go "stylishly retro" with the SS Zeiss
