Our home phone called itself?

A few minutes ago, our phone rang. We have caller ID, and it showed our home number and my name as caller!

What could this be?

I used to do this as a prank --- call someone from their own number, loop the sound back to them. They get a call from their own number and when they pick up, well, who else would it be?

But in your case I guess it was just a telemarketer with a misconfigured phone switch.
