Most English language speakers would know Exocoetidae as flying fish. They are very tasty - I’ve eaten quite a few that died after leaping into my boat. Their roe/eggs, called tobiko ( とびこ - I think - Jon Manjiro can no doubt confirm or correct) in Japanese, are very tasty too.
