Shelby Mississippi 2007 - Minister Walter Horton stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after preaching at his church to deliver a few words of deliverance to the regular crowd sitting around drinking beer downtown. They respectfully set their cans of beer down and listened to him for a few minutes. He seemed to know their tolerance level and kept it brief.

Memphis Tennessee 2008 - While out photographing with late RFF member Blake Billings we drove by a lady, Janet, sitting on the steps of a homeless shelter. I wanted to photograph her so we parked a few blocks away. Blake insisted he should stay and guard the car, a rental in my name so I began walking down the street to where she was. But then Steve in his wheelchair and Queen his dog joined up with me. He said he knew the lady, Janet, so made the introductions when we all came together.
