out of gas

I'm experiencing this strange, calm feeling. No desire for more photo gear. I've got everything I want/need. Now, if a good deal comes along and I have some spare cash, I might snap it up, but there is no new gear on my horizon. I've got several good RF bodies, and a good range of lenses: 25, 40, several 50's, 85, 90, 135mm. Weird feeling after being so driven to aquire for so long.

Yeah, thought the same thing until the 7sz w 50mm F0.95 came up! Glad it has been jumped on. Same with the Canon P w 50mm F1.8. No complaints here, after the Lynx and Leicaflex. Of course I would not complain after a $275 Color Dial Contax IIa w Sonnar! Some real bargains have come along here at RFF this week, and been grabbed by others.

Normal. Means you feel adequately covered by your kit. Now all you need to do is wear that stuff out and/or outgrow it. So go take pictures.

I got this feeling too half a year ago. I now know that I will eventually snatch up one or two MF folders and a large format gear (and then start hunting around for strange lenses for it).

It will happen, I know it, but I do not have a burning feeling that I must get it now, so I look around trying to figure out what to get, eventually.

In the mean time I am trying to build up inspiration for the upcoming darkroom season and figuring out whether I should take a long photo trip in Europe in September or not.

Funny, I thought this GAS thing was an ailment. For some reason, everyone I know is encouraging me to delve more into photography. But........ I think I'll try getting good with a lower end model, and add more equipment as skill develops.
