Well, we're back. Actually, we came back yesterday, a day earlier than anticipated. Ernesto's rains advancing on Prince Edward County made us decide to return on Saturday rather than work through another day of camping in rain.
Of the four days camping in NH, we had three days in which there was at least some rain. We really didn't suffer (the tent is watertight and roomy enough), but we split our time between two campsites, so setting up and taking down twice, especially breaking camp when the tent is wet, is not a lot of fun.
BUT ... we did have a good time overall. We actually achieved four of our "objectives". We visited with Sheryl's first college roommate and her family, which is always a delight. Their two adoptee girls (from China, 8 and 4 years) are pure joy.
Second, we both got a much-needed break from work. I think we were more burned out than we knew, even though we
did know we were exhausted.
Third, I pretty much got my b&w vision back! I'm going to create a separate thread for that topic, but it was so simple I did a "Doh!" a la Homer.
Fourth, I was able to score some really, really good raw-milk cheese from
Au Gre des Champs, and it was worth the effort tracking down their location. I was mystified that no one in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu seemed to know the road of their location, but oh well. The important thing is it made it across the border. :angel:
One roll of Tri-X @ 200 in Rodinal 1:50 is hanging to dry. The negs look good upon quick inspection. I'll cut and sleeve them tomorrow morning and give a look under a loupe.
