I sold a V/C 25/4 Skopar to a guy in Spain through this forum. He was in no rush, said he'd be okay with slow, cheapest mail, so that's what I did. It was sent regular post Oct 23rd from Vancouver, and he still hasn't rec'd it, and I wanted to alert other readers to not use regular post without at least a tracking number, which, with Canadian mail, means using one of the so-called express options, or by courier. Even though the latter is most expensive, you have more guarantee it will arrive, first of all, and arrive in a timely manner, secondly. From an ethical point of view, I'm stuck between wanting to refund some of his money, but then, do I know that he's really not rec'd it? And is it my problem that he wanted to go the cheapest option possible for mail, knowing the risks? Why should I lose out on this? He offered a lower bid on the item here on rff than another potential buyer, but I decided to sell to him because he'd answered first, and seemed so keen on the lens. Now, he' without a lens, presumably, and I'm left feeling ****ty that he paid for it and got nothing.

Was that surface mail? If your postal service is like ours (Royal Mail) I doubt they'd even consider it late yet. And everything slows down at Christmas anyway. If airmail, I'd be worried.
