Owner's review UK

I am living in The Netherlands and as of now now there are no preorders solicited by any of the local online stores.
Is the the reviewer employed by Fuji I wonder?
any specific reason for this?

I'm getting the feeling that Fuji's marketing is manipulating a lot of this stuff, and I don't like it
I figured if it was a marketing manipulation it would have been a glowing review. For now it seems to point out at 3 limitations.
1. Quality of digital controls on the back and the AF switch. No excuse for this. (Fuji's mindset: people will not be using this too much anyway).
2. Long throw for the MF ring. I tend to think this was deliberate on Fuji's end, its probably something they envisioned for Macro / Landscape (fine tuning)
3. Image Quality. This has been debated to a hair splitting end. To each his own interpretation (though some examples on flickr look great)

It looks like a fair review to me, but some of you who have been here longer might know better...

The images themselves are some of the least exciting I've seen from the camera. A couple definitely appear to be over exposed and that black and white is awful IMO.

Thanks for the link though. :)

It looks like a fair and unbiased review.

I've read one review in which it was stated that the one of the batteries exploded while charging. The camera is out, people are using them, and now the reality is setting in. Looks like a nice camera, nice innovations with the viewfinder, some bugs to be worked out. I'm betting there will be an X200 within 18months.

I've been here for a long time.

I agree. Blown highlights and overexposed. But perhaps we can attribute these to the in-experiance on the author's part. he has only had the camera for 1 day.

Yoda: "I cannot teach him. The boy has no patience."
Obi-Wan: "He will learn patience."
Yoda: "Hmm. Much anger in him, like his father."
Obi-Wan: "Was I any different, when you taught me?"

Yes ... I'm not blaming the camera, I agree the images are a result of his unfamiliararity with the PP software. I downloaded that black and white and fiddled a bit and it looked a heap better when it was toned down a bit.

Yeah they're all washed out and lack any bottom end. Almost definitely a processing issue. He does say how bad he is with silky pix!

X100.2 maybe Brian? :D

I think the camera will be fine ... people will tend to over expect initially, after all we've been winding ourselves up for some time over this Fuji! :p

Why do you say that? This particular review has quite a few things in it which put the camera in a negative light.... Exactly what is it that makes you think it's rigged?

True and at the risk of sounding uber-philosophical.
Is there something as a bad camera? my limitations may be your challenges...
