Thanks. I also wanted to mention that those are my first shots out of Rodinal. TMAX 100 in Rodinal 1:100 at 21C for 20 minutes. I'm liking it.

It definately has the old box camera look to it and really makes a good old style photo. Be good for making some vintage photos

Someone at APUG keeps grasping at straws about how these *can't* be purely analog...they're scanned, but no correction was done. He can't seem to just believe me on that.

On a serious note, though, I have Tri-X in the thing now. Really excited about the next ones...all inside shots. Trying to decide what to push the film to to actually get them to come out. I'm thinking 12,800. The lens is a constant f/11 and the shutter speed is around 1/125 judging from the decent photos at 4 PM. So hm.

It's the kind of photo which makes me want to look at again and again. It proves the point that sometimes it's not the glass or camera. But the subject which one is shooting. Bravo!!

Can someone tell me why they like the first photo so much? That isn't my favorite and I'm curious.

Well Steph, personally i like people photos. But that first photo has qualities of light contrasted against the dark areas that i find appealing. And the reflection of the trees make it interesting.
Well, that's just my take of it. I guess its one of those photos that does not look that great when one is framing it in the viewfinder but turns out not too bad when the photo comes out after its developed.

the first one is good, but the last one i like best. i have shot a lot of great photos with cheap cameras, and in spite of gas every now and then, it is the eye that makes the difference.
besides, would it be so bad if the pictures had been photoshopped? the shots as such would still be the basis, and i see photoshop as a means for digital photography development (the guy complaining could have as well complained about the pictures being developed in the first place).
