P&S with autorewind that leave film leader out..

How about those cameras that unwind the unexposed film on to the spool first and then run backwards so that the exposed ones go into the cassette as you shoot? Just stop after frame 24 or 36, expose another frame and open the back in a changing bag, perhaps...

The XPAN works like that. However, it does not have the option of leaving the film leader out. The HEXAR RF did.

A lot of Fuji cameras have this feature and I believe they were the first to implement it. Many of the DL series cameras do pre-wind.

Be seeing you.

The Ricoh AF-77 leaves part of the leader out. It's basically the second to last in the line of Ricoh AF cams, with a very simplified set of controls. But since it is built on the same body as the previous FF cameras, then it stands to reason most Ricoh AF models will do that.

For many a schmuck, full rewind prevents a roll of double exposures.

I normally write on the leader 8 exposures made or finished.
