Pacific North West Forest Fires Oregon (Sept 2020)

Ugh, this is terrible news. :( I think Colton's good friend and fellow forum member Gerry M is also in the affected area. Hoping and praying that everyone is safe.

I heard (from Gerry M) Colton's house is ok, but it is hitting him pretty hard personally. Gerry M told me today that so far he and his home are ok.

Not very good news. Colton and Gerry M. are both OK it seems. My old hometown south of Portland hasn't had rain for two months, very rare.

Oregon may see one or two fires of 100,000 acres or more in a full fire season. There are currently three burning and most are west of the Cascades which is even more unusual. Shifting weather patterns, millions of trees dead from bark beetles and other invasive species. Add to that the forest floor is full of dead branches, fast growing grasses that dry out and provide fuel. Through all of the western states the idea of forrest management is brought up in the legislatures only to be sidelined because of cost. We're seeing the cost of those inactions.

Hoping Colton is safe...

There’ve been wildfires in Oregon and Washington too. I just heard that a fire between Medford and Ashland burned through Tallent. I hope Colton Allen (Swift1) and his family are safe.

We’ve had horrible air quality around Sacramento, from fires to the north and south. AQI yesterday was 484😳😬
