Has anyone tried this at home? regards Ian.

Difficult to do because you need to strip the chrome from the brass barrel, which would mean you would have to fully take the lens apart (including the optical cell).
I'm not even sure if you can strip the aluminum lenses properly.

Some of the old black paint lenses (early Summicron rigid) were simply chrome lenses that were painted over!
