DSLR is like Microsoft Word whereas Film is like an exquisite fountain pen. It is much more fun when I have time to relax. I still insist that Velvia can be used for streets and other shots than for landscape.

Taken with UC Hexanon 35mm and Velvia 100 on Zeiss Ikon.

I need to learn how to use Velvia properly...

Your colors are great, develped yourself or?

I shot Velvia RVP 135 iso 50 in my olympus 35sp (maybe less contrasty lens than your Hex) but got a lot of muted colors. Maybe because I was underexposing?

here is an example:

Not the best example cause it is indoor lighting, but the paintings on the right were really colorful.

Yes, a little underexposed, but really interesting composition though!!

I thought under-exposing slide film increases saturation, no?

Velvia is my favorite film. Though I got some AGFA Ultra Color from Hong Kong and am really enjoying it right now.

DSLR's are awesome, by the way. They are not remotely like word processors.

I think Velvia colour rendition is very lens dependent, at least that is my experience, on vintage or uncoated lens the colour is rather flat/muted, and more saturated and striking with modern coated glass. Also I think slightly overexposed it gives more vivid colour

A little Velvia 100 with Contax T in Ulaan Baatar last summer. Couldn't post from the RFF gallery so I had to upload from flickr. Seems like people either love or hate Velvia. I enjoy the look, but hate to wait a week or more to get it developed in my neighborhood.

I forgot to mention I really do like drjoke's pics. All of these are really nice in fact--what a wonderful film...

How do you all have your Velvia processed, by the way? Do you get slides mounted, or just scan from strips of positives? I'm wondering if perhaps I should start going with the latter, for ease of scanning and storage, then mount my favorites myself.

Breathtaking colors. My recent forays with slide film were less than succesful. I have to put some through my CLA'd M2 though.
