Panasonic GX-8

The in-body stabilization that works in concert with the OIS optical stabilization looks promising, this will appeal to low-light and hand-held video shooters as a companion body to their GH4s.

Many are upset with the larger body, but I am happy to see a larger body with more individual knobs, and fewer tiny menu buttons. I agree that it will probably become a popular body, will consider one myself once any bugs are worked out.

In the production bodies, I hope they decide to switch back to a 3.5 mic jack, like other Panny bodies.

Now that Panasonic has the gm5, I think the larger body of the gx8 was the right way to go. If u want smaller body, go w/ gm5...there will most like be a gm6 w/ the new sensor eventually.

i think the larger body will be better, too. the gx7 was a little cramped, sorta like the x100.

From the specs, it looks like the GX-8 is catching up to the Olympus E-P5, but with a 20 mp sensor. I'm not sure that 20 v. 16 mp in m4/3 makes that much difference. I've always liked Pany's control layout (I've got a GX-1).

Definitely waiting before buying another camera body. I have two GX7 bodies and am very happy with them. I purchased after the GX7 became a bit harder to find. Got it at a bargain price. The GX8 looks great, but not in my near future.

Good to hear. We need someone to keep posting decent GX7 images in the GX7 Images thread ;)
