Looks good. I will be curious to learn if the sensor will be on par with (or even better than) the latest m4/3 cameras from Olympus.

1000 EUR body only? What are they smoking in Japan?

Hardly. Look at the price. 1000 euro and for a sensor that's smaller than APS-C. No thanks. Under $1000 and it would have been competitive. Why would anyone buy this over a oly OM-D (if your invested in m4/3 gear)?

The shape, size, and feel of the camera is very different from the OM-D Pramodh. I would take this over the OM-D (all things equal) if I was into m4/3.

At last someone has realised that a built-in EVF doesn't have to be fixed rigidly in place.

I know this is snarky, but what happened with the GX2-6?
All DOA in prototype-land?
It seems more than a little disingenuous to jump to 7. Keeping up with NEX numbers, perhaps.
All snarking aside, I do appreciate how my GX1 handles native and adapted lenses.

I have GF1 + GX1, and this one seems to be an evolution on those one. I like it.

It seems nice, but overpriced. At $700-800 body only it would be enough to make folks switch to m4/3. At over $1100 it's too much, and won't attract a lot of attention, I'd think.

Just wait, the price will plummet after maybe a few months.
GX1 is also overpriced at release but it got corrected by the market

I do own an OMD, and I may get this...
I do like form factor with the side and tiltable EVF over the PENS.

I have similar thoughts... I will have to see a few reviews first though.

Exactly. 6 months after release these will be going for 399. Panasonic cameras plunge in price like stones in water. One would have to be soft in the head to buy one of these at launch.

The LX7 has fallen in price by nearly a third since it's release. I avoided getting one the as I still use my LX5, but at the current price, the LX7 is more tempting.
The largest market for these cameras is in Japan, where everyone wants the newest model. Panasonic will move as many as they can at the introductory price, and bring the price down as other companies introduce newer models.

I had the same question. I recently got a GX1. I quite like its handling. Not yet convinced that the IQ is better than my Oly E-PL1, although the autofocus is definitely faster.

This is a good looking little camera. I have long had a lot of respect for Panasonic cameras and own a few of them inlcuding a Pany Lx1, a Pany GF1 and a Pany LX3...........................................................I could be tempted! I decided when I bought the GF1 that I preferred it to the Olympus offerings which to my mind are more designed for the average "man on the Clapham omnibus" than serious shooters.

I picked up my LX7 in late winder/early spring 2013, catching it on sale for under $300. At that price, I've been more than delighted with it, and it's my everyday carry camera.

I hope you're right...the introduction of this camera, as well as the anticipated OM-D successor will, I hope, drop EM-5 prices even more, possibly to the point where I'll make my first foray into m43. If this happens, I think my ideal kit would involve 2 bodies, something in the OM-D style, and something like this.
