You are correct that anyone ordering from the U.S. won't have to pay any Canadian tax, but the government is no longer refunding GST at the border to tourists.

M adapter is coming at the end of December. Stephen will carry them for $175. Crop factor is 2x.

Did I read that right M adapter? Doesn't that pretty much signal the end for the M8?

Not at all. The G1 has a smaller frame/bigger crop factor and a nice chip in it. Also, we haven't seen the viewfinder, and all that Leica glass will have to be used in stop-down mode as there is no auto diaphragm . . .

The biggest issue will be the 2x crop factor of the sensor. Everything except very wides will become teles. But I'm eager to see what the results will be anyway.

One person raised the question about warranty, and the listings all say one year limited international warranty. I emailed a question on the warranty to Prodigital2000. They responded the same day. Here is the response:
Yes, you should be able to have it repaired in America for the first year, as long as it is is something that the warranty covers, such as parts and labour.
Regarding the closing prices being too low, somehow the 68,000 transactions and 99% positive feedback softens my concerns. It looks like they have listed about 40 of these so far and sold most of them. The currently consistent closes seem to be $550-570. I haven't seen any negative feedback on any of the closed auctions.
I'm going to purchase in a couple of weeks and will post my results.

But they don't say it's the manufacturer's warranty. This could mean that untrained technicians do the work and they may not use original spec parts.
This seller is most likely a grey market dealer.
Am I saying you shouldn't buy the camera? No. Am I saying it is not a good deal? No. I'm only saying read the fine print and be aware of the risks.
For what it's worth I don't put much stock in the Panasonic warranty anyway. Here in Vancouver I sent my LC1 to the "authorized" Panasonic warranty repair shop for an electronics problem and they sent it back with a broken lens, claiming it needed a new lens assembly at $700. I took it to another repair shop that is not "authorized" and they will fix it for about $200. This shop told me it looks like the lens had been "tampered with".
