Not really one to post up new digital cameras, but I'm pretty amazed by all the (useful) bells and whistles they've crammed into the new DMC-LX7.

Looks great, I love my LX3 but I'd love it even more if it could take an EVF like the LX5 and this camera. The aperture ring looks cool and all but I'm not sure how useful it really is. With the huge depth of field you get with these type of cameras I just shoot mine on program mode for the most part.

I'm a big fan of the lx series and had mixed feelings about this release. I was hoping for a slightly larger sensor, but that f1.4 is nice.
Another nice thing is that it takes the lvf-2.

Sensor wise, it's 1/1.7'', smaller than the 1/1.63'' one in the LX5. Guess that's part of their effort of pushing the aperture to f/1.4.
Size wise, see pictures. The game has definitely changed.
Well at least one thing is for sure: comes next year there will be many happy D-LUX 6 owners boasting Leica's impressive ability of making a Vario-Summilux.

Interesting how they decided to go with a smaller sensor and wider aperture, when many others seem to be moving towards larger sensors. The features are very cool, and it seems a fair bit smaller than the previous model.
