Panasonic X lenses 12-35mm f2.0 and 35-100mm f2.0

I'm not personally that interested in big (although fast) zoom lenses for a small camera system, but I gotta say that Panasonic is really pumping out some interesting lenses.
 
For those like me that are looking for a small, quality system, this could be the ticket. As much as I love my M6, it's getting harder and harder for me to develop/scan/PP my negatives, and I'm being pushed to digital due to my current personal situation, so my only options for a small quality interchangeable lens system was the M8 (old and still expensive) or my dream camera M9 (way way too expensive for me).

I know M43 ain't no rangefinder system, but I'm starting to be pragmatic, and this 12-35 lens mounted in an Oly E-Px would be a killer kit for me. Small, fast and good quality.

The f2.0 in the thread title is pure speculation and very unlikely IMO. The Olympus f2.0 zooms for 4/3 are much thicker than these X lens mockups. My guess is f2.8, which is still great if the IQ is top notch and the price stays below $1000. The mockups for both lenses say "Power OIS" on the front ring. People have been clamoring for 24-70 IS / VR models for years.

A friend of mine is dumping all his Canon EOS gear (5D, L lenses, etc.) and putting together a very nice m43 system (g3, 12/2, 45/2.8, etc.).

But both of them are a really different class - as far as I have read the new lenses are designed to be the smallest possible with their bad features being removed by the software post-processing.

Panasonic even had to mention this is not related in any way with their cooperation with Leica, because these lenses will never meet the quality requirements of Leica. These are not lenses for those who aim at maximum quality. On the other hand, these lenses are very portable what is definitelly a major advantage for many users (e. g. if you want to have this camera with you all the time in your bag and you don t want to use some pancake lens.

I am curious what the results of the tests of these lenses will look like...
 
Those prices are for the old Olympus 4/3 f/2 pro zooms.
There's no way Panasonic will charge that much for the X zooms - especially as it's unlikely they will be as fast as f/2.

Just the distortion correction - which has very little if any effect on overall IQ. In fact hasselblad does the same with it's current lenses too...
 
very interested to see how the 12-35 pans out. Will be REALLY nice if it is 2.8 and under 1000, or 3.5 and even cheaper.
