Those nice parcels keep coming in (fortunately, my girlfriend was not home when the postman repeatedly rang during the last days...);
first, the Konica Auto S2 (VERY nice, handling, great finder, I have to finish the first roll to see results soon);
then Joe's Minotla Himatic 7s (very similar to the Konica, but it did not get any use yet);
and today the Yashica Lynx 5000 and the Werra Matic I got really cheap on Austrian Ebay.
The Yashica is smaller than expected (smaller than an Electro 35 G or the Konica), came in almost mint condition, with a UV filter that must not have been removed since the cam was originally bought (the front lens is that clean), and an original hood and pristine original bag; the finder is a bit dimmer than other comparable cameras from the period, though...
A real surprise was the Werra Matic - very compact, as wide as an Oly 35RC (though taller and much thicker); very nice finder with framelines for 3 lenses (35 and 100mm, in addition to the 50mm); the film advance by turning a knob around the lens mount is WAY more practical than it may sound - one can shoot really fast with that; this one seems to have been used a lot (the numbers for ASA/DIN values are almost worn off) - a good sign? - but still feels solid, even the selenium cell meter still works, I have to check it against my Gossen, though. Now, if only the extra lenses were not that hard to find (the 100mm Cardinar and the 35mm Flektogon).
