My M5s need red dots!
For some reason, that's the phrase that came to my mind ever since I got a hankering for an M3. Now... the kit is assembled. Here's a kind of "after" series of pics (I won't post the before 'cuz I think you already saw them when I announced my M3's arrival).
So, here it is, the "Paris in the Fifties" gear: newly covered Leica M3 DS, collapsible Summicron, mid-sixties MR meter (but who's counting?) and "never ready" leather case (very classy, though).
Thanks for bearing with me!

Hey Francisco,
I can help you with the perfect matching meter! I have a working MC with booster. Then you are fully authentic!

Pics made with this camera? Paris pics? Pas encore, monsieur...
But sooner or later I'll scan something.
Not from Paris... alas!

For the time being I won't get closer to Paris than the Ardennes. I'm not sure a Japanesque Gold M2 is quite what comes to mind when I think of the Ardennes....

Nice, I see the charm of "old setups" shame about the 60-ties meter, I bet there will be ways to exchange for a similar period meter ..

a bit ironic about the meter being what started all this eh?
none the less, great shots and a very classy looking outfit!

Agree, it's fun that it all started with the 60's meter

The never-ready case is exactly that. Useful only for the original Leicas that had no strap hooks.
Also, didn't the late Henri Cartier=Bresson have a "Paris in the 30's" Leica?

I went out this afternoon... with this camera. Heck, sixties meter or not, it works like a charm!
Thanks for the comments! And it's scary how some people remember things... Yep, the meter was an impulse buy, and after I got it fixed, the need for its companion became obsessive. And yes, Oscar, I had planned on selling it, but even my wife liked the camera.
Who am I now to disappoint her?
BTW, so far, nobody has made comments on the camera or lens. Let's see tomorrow... I'm hopefully getting up early and hitting a swap-and-meet!

Of course, Gil, that case really adds the final touch!
Really a nice rig, Francisco! Looks great, and your shots of it are excellent too.
