I and, apparently, many others were/are under the impression that the MP VF and DX-reader upgrades are covered under the Passport warranty.
In fact, I confirmed this with Leica NJ (Robert Fisk) before sending them my M7 back in January. From NJ, it was passed on to Solms.
The M7 was returned to NJ from Solms a couple of weeks ago and has been sitting there since because there is an invoice for $400+ that Leica said I have to pay first.
I won't bother the group with the confusing details of exchanged messages. Suffice it to say I finally learned today that the upgrades are NOT covered by the Passport warranty. But because I was told, in error, that the upgrades were covered, the charges will be waived. 😀
So, I should have my M7 in hand by Monday or Tuesday, only 15 weeks after Leica received it. :bang:
