Paterson tank - 2 x 120 on one reel

Kodak D-76 tech note says when using D-76 dilluted 1:1 with 2 films in 500ml tank development time should be extended by 10 %. As always this is manufacturer's recommended starting time.

As I recall, a two roll Paterson tank can't take two 120 reels. I could be wrong, though. 🙂

You're right...BUT you can load a roll of 220 onto one reel and that is equal to two rolls of 120...😀
If I develop one roll or two, on one reel, I still develop it for the same amount of time (that I have found works for me) That's enough to tell me that there's plenty of developer in the tank to do the job...

If you watch E-Bay, you will find very cheap Paterson 3 reel tanks (holds 2 120 rolls) and 5 reel tanks (holds 3 120 rolls). I mean less than US$10.

A bigger tank is much better than trying to load 2 120 rolls on one spool.

Tip: It is worth while searching there for "Patterson" (incorrect spelling with two t's as they tend to go unnoticed and attract fewer bidders.

I have a question about the capacity of a filmreel in Paterson tank. I have a standard plastic black/red Paterson tank, it fits 2 x 35mm reels or 1 x 120 reel.
Currently I have quite a backlog of film to develop, and while usually the above capacity is plenty sufficient (feels right developing 2 rolls of the same type 35mm at a time), righ now I have quite a few of the same type 120's and quite a lot of 35mm to go. I'd like to do 120 quicker 🙂
