How much play does the Super Bowl get internationally guys?

Well, I really don't see this being a competative game. I think the Pats hit hard, early and often. Maybe go into the locker room at half time with a 17-3 or 24-7 lead and just trade scores in the second half keeping the Eagles at arms reach.

What do you think?
 
All depends on how well the defenses play. If the same team that demolished the Falcons shows up, it might be more competative that some think. Now, I'll admit that I expect New England to win so I'll kick back with a couple of bottles of focusing fluid and root for Philly.

Be sure when check when the Big Game is on. Great Ebay sniping time. Saved hundreds on a Nikon RF during the 4th quarter of the Superbowl.

The Pats are way overrated & overhyped. I hope the Eagles win just so all the sports talk show guys aropund here have to eat crow. :rolleyes: I expect a close, competitive game - just like the last 2 Pats' Super Bowl wins. Remember all the hype last year about how Carolina didn't belong on the same fiels with New England? Turned out they did belong. I think either team can win.

Just my 2 cents . . .

PS - Rover's probably right. He's smarter than I am. :)

There was a piece on the Super Bowl on Sky Sports tonight, Sky have a reporter there so its getting some play in England anyway.
 
They bill this in the States as the most watched TV program of the year, in the world. I don't see this thread proving that out.
 
That's just the usual hyperbole rover. The most watched sports program in the world is the Word Cup final and that takes place every four years. Second place probably goes to the Champions League final which is held every year in May. Football (soccer) is the most popular sport in the world.
 
I will be glued with one eye to the TV and another to Ebay - unfortunatly on danish time that is between midnigt and half past tree in the morning - lots of coffee - what is the preference on this forum eagles or patriots ??
 
Well Ruben as a lad from Manchester (the red half) but living in Boston I obviously hope the Patriots win, although I will not be watching the game (baseball is my American sport). For most of the time I have lived here the Patriots have been crap, now they are monsters. Everyone is enjoying it here and it is good to see. :)
 
It is indeed Peter. I read a statistic somewhere saying that soccer is the biggest sport in the world as far as participation goes and fastest growing sport in the US. Conversely, basketball is the biggest sport in the US and fastest growing in the world.
 
Interesting rover. I am amazed at the number of major professional football teams in Europe that also have significant basketball programs. The trend is particularly noticable in Spain and Italy.

it is strange that many american can stand soccer because we paly 2 x 45 minutes and a game can end 0-0 and europeans have a hard time with american football because of all the brakes - A couple of years ago I decided to give it a chance and it is actually rather interesting and strange, but it will rock the world championship of soccer. I like the things the eagles quarter back sometimes do - unexpected - improvised (probably not - but it looks like it )
 
Growing up I actually played in the first organized youth soccer league in my hometown. Some of you will find it strange to hear this was around 1977 and it was the first. My high school actually didn't have a soccer team, the belief was back then that a soccer program would take away talented kids from the football team. Well, I forget his name, but the coach of my first team was a former member of the German World Cup team. He was a patient teacher. He had to be to put up with a bunch of American kids with no idea of how to play the game and no role models to watch and learn from. My team was pretty good, but not the best as far as our record went. I am sure though that we learned the best fundamentals.
