I put this in the top-level forum since I'm unsure if it's best in the chemistry or scanning sub, or even printing.
My tap water here comes from the Cedar River, and I'm told it's fairly soft. Nonetheless, I get pretty bad water spotting with home development, regardless of using photo-flo. Water filtration isn't much of an option for a number of reasons.
Since I started scanning years ago, I took to using Edwin Anti-Stat and it's been great. Then I knocked over half the bottle; boy did my carpet smell clean! A little concerning is the MSDS listing perc (the dry-cleaning chemical) as an ingredient, not to mention the cost.
I've considered switching over to PEC-12 but read conficting reports that it is either more gentle or vice versa.
Obviously I'm not looking to scrape off accumulated gunk from decades of poor storage, just a quick wipe down of spots, dust and the inevitable cat hair. Interested in what the consensus is here.
