On behalf of all folks wishing to bring back their Pentacon cameras to King Kong health, there are many places worldwide. But two of them located in Germany hooked my attention

a) Pentacon Dresden, who merged with Exacta camera:
http://www.pentacon-dresden.de/index.php?id=19&L=1

and still give full CLA or partial fixings to Pentacon Six cameras
http://www.pentacon-dresden.de/index.php?id=15&L=1

b) Baierfoto.de, whose owner Rolf Dieter is not only a master technician and device inventor, but a master gentleman as well:
http://www.baierfoto.de/fiadco.html

BTW, Baierfoto offers very advantageous package deals to combine the many devices and repairs, which one by one may be too costly.

Don't expect FSU prices at both adresses. Do expect highest traditional Carl Zeiss reliability.

c) I think that Master Gejza in Slovakia (Cupog at eBay) should also be taken into account.

Hurted Pentacon users are most kindly invited to take advantage of these service still available.

If only these luxury services were available for Kiev cameras too....

Cheers,
Ruben

Arax does a great job restoring Kiev 6c's, Kiev 60's and K88's. He lives near the Arsenal factory, I think. He has access to the stuff inside. Has a nice website, too.

I know, I was refering to the Kiev rangefinders, which Henry Scherer had to drop to stop slandering he mixes between both in his fixings.

Eddie Smolov in Brooklyn, NY does a great job fixing any mechanical camera. He used to train technicians at the Arsenal factory, he can fix your Kievs, but he not an inventor, like Rolf-Dieter. So I see your point.

My experiences with Rolf-Dieter have all been excellent. And he is truly a gentlemen, and overall great guy to know.

This is great info, if I get around to picking one up I know where to send them for service now.

So much talk about these Pentacon's is making me want to get one. It doesn't help that last week I was out photographing with some friends and one of them uses one regularly.

I CLA my Kievs so it is not for me. But many folks are lost around looking for a luxury service for their Kievs.

As a matter of curiosity, the prices of Henry Scherer never frightened me and I considered them a bargain. I have wrote this several times. It is just the waiting list what prevented me from buying a Contax.

Cheap services for the Kiev rangefinders are necessary for the guy on a budget. But luxury service can make this camera to sing ("The International" anthem, for example) to unexpected heights.

The problem here is that a luxury CLA for a $100 camera doesn't sound attractive.

It is in these fields that the service of Smolov are of interest to me, so I may redirect folks asking me for Soviet Kiev redemption.

Ruben

Excellent information. Thanks! As a matter of fact, I am shipping my Pentacon Six to Baierfoto next week. I have owned a Pentacon Six since the early 1990s. It is a fabulous camera! The infamous frame spacing problems can be easily avoided by using proper technique. For my needs, this is a near-perfect camera.

Kindly keep us updated to last detail. If possible.

IIRC Master Oleg used to fix and repair RF Kievs 2, 3 & 4; considering my positive experience with his work in other cameras, I will confidently send him any of my Kievs when necessary (crossed fingers )
Cheers
