Cool portrait!
How big are the RAW files? just curious.

That certainly looks better than any other digital image I've seen.

Thank you. Roughly around 65Mb, if memory serves me correctly.
charjohncarter - Again, thank you very much. Kind words are always appreciated.

Am I right in thinking it shares the same sensor as the Leica S2.

I don't believe so. I heard the same rumour, but after trawling the internet it looks like yes, they are both CCD sensors, but slightly different dimensions - the Pentax is 44x33mm and the Leica is 45x30.

I have been looking at Pentax 645d images on the web. To me, they have that certain, realistic look to them. I don't care that people are comparing the Nikon 800 to it and stating the Nikon it better or equal to it. If I had the money I would still buy the Pentax over the Nikon.

Patrick, I do have more, but none I am happy to share with. This was the first evening I had taken the 645D out (whilst sober - don't ask) and was still getting my head around menus and the AF. I don't normally shoot digital, so it was a bit alien to me. Besides, I'm quite pleased that I am now restrained enough to allow my inner editor to do his thing - this was never normally the case
Fear not, though - now I kind of know what I'm doing - more will be forth coming
Scottyb - Yeah - I don't really see the sense in the popular D800 vs Medium Format argument. Even with the D800E, with the AA filter removed, they are still not comparable in my book. Yep, if you're just looking at mexapixels, they are, but the FX sensor of the Nikon is still dwarfed by the much larger CCD sensor of the Pentax. Whole different ball game

It's pixel size that really counts. The shot you posted is great. Happy New Year.

It is a lovely shot that has that organic quality of medium format work (albeit slightly cropped). One thing the D800 won't have is the 645 Pentax glass. Who cares about comparing these cameras anyway.

Well I`ve said it elsewhere Chris so I may as well say it here too.
My sentiments are the same as John..."better than any other digital image I`ve seen".
I`m just sorry I couldn`t make it to the meet ....and yes ,more please.
