Good morning,
I just received a nice Pentax Spotmatic ES II. I inserted new batteries, mounted an auto SMC 50/1.4 set to Auto on the camera played around with it. I noticed that while the battery check is ok (needle dropping to the center cutout), as soon as I half-press the shutter, the meter needle rushes downwards completely instead of indicating a correct shutter speed. The shutter fires, but I have no idea if the speeds it chooses are ok and I do not want to spend a roll of film to find out just yet.
any ideas whats up with that needle behaviour? Is the meter cell bust or something like that? thanks!
