Pentax FF

Thanks for that! Well, looks like I was too pessimistic. The prospect of a FF Pentax, at last, is exciting. I don't really "need" another dSLR but I'm enough of a Pentax fan that I'm pretty sure to get this one anyway!

Me too. I only need the camera to work well enough to use all those lovely M lenses .

Looking at my photo-gear database, of the 19 KA-mount lenses only two would have a problem with full-frame sensors... the 15mm f/4 and 21mm f/3.2. My one decent zoom is the 20-35mm so that should be wide enough! The longest of this KA selection is the big 85mm f/1.4 Planar ZK, and the next wider one is the 77mm f/1.8 SMCP so I'd be looking forward to more frequent use of these two. Yes, I feel the GAS pressure building already!

I've moved out of Pentax, but I've always felt that the handling of the K-5/K-3 series was exceptional; so much nicer than Nikon. Very logical. You can do everything important with one hand. The Green button! (It let's you come back to the camera's auto "optimal" with one click. Say your shooting manual, and make open up the aperture for a backlit shot, then move to another view. Hit the green, and you're exposure is back to neutral.

And I still love the MZ-S!

Probably a FF K-01

You know, there is quite a lot to say about in lens stabilisation as well. It was a very good surprise when the stabilisation of my new Canon 24-105 IS worked without a hitch on my ancient EOS RT film body. Now I have a great stabilised zoom on film.
I'm quite sure there is. Now, if you could tell me how I can have this installed into, say, fifty year old manual focus lenses, please? ;)

And of course, that is the advantage to the in-body stabilization that Pentax uses. Those old lenses are stabilized.

So far all Pentax bodies with SR (shake reduction) have had smaller-than-FF sensors... The 645Z has sensor-shake for dust removal but not for SR, presumably due to the weight of the sensor assembly. Has any other manufacturer offered a FF sensor with in-body shake reduction?

I know I would be very disappointed if that feature were absent from the coming FF Pentax...
