Pentax Full Frame camera pics from CP+

That's quite the lump. I hope they hire a stylist and do some trimming before they release it.

it's a mockup according to Dpreview. Wish they will finalized it and show the real thing soon. For now, it is a tank for sure :)

I am one of those three people who are waiting for Pentax FF to come along.

I am not so sure about the size, though - they used to be known for small nimble cameras (think MX or the *ist DS or the venerable Spotmatic).

So I am just hoping desperately for a "lump stylist". :)

I'm number 2 who is the other one? I agree if this is like my friends 5D, forget it. You need crane to lift that thing; so he hardly ever uses it. If it was just slightly larger than a K10d fine, but if you get into Canon sizes: no.

Yep, that what I was thinking. Small increase fine, but Pentax is known for small footprint, not monsters.

i would be the third guy who's been waiting for a full frame pentax, but, yeah, that prism is reason enough to get a sony a7ii instead. :(

if that large-looking pentaprism means it will have an absolutely amazing large and bright viewfinder image, then perhaps people might forgive its bulky appearance..

Dare I say this probably would have made sense if it was released around the same time as the D700? Personally I'm interested, and I'd image lots of folk on forums like this one probably are as well. But introducing a conventional dSLR now?

The world, and more importantly, the market, has moved on.

I love that they are displaying it with Pentax's most legendary lens

God, I hope the mock-up isn't anywhere near what the finished product will look like! It looks like a big, heavy monstrosity. i am holding out hope that Pentax/Ricoh will surprise us with something that was clearly worth the wait. Both companies are known for innovative products. Surely that tradition will win out...

Just give us a FF mirror-less with the best EVF in the business, make it work like a dream with legacy lenses, incl. M42, and declare victory. I am afraid if they go down the DSLR road with a product that's already obsolete before it even hits the market and without being able to offer the same professional support system/environment as Nikon and Canon, it'll be a textbook flop that'll be studied by future generations of business school students.
