I've been using my K1000, minus battery, along with a hand-held meter. I would like to give the camera metering a try, but my edition of the K1000 is an older one, I think. (It has "Asahi Pentax" on the back under the film advance lever.) Are there any recommended newer batteries that will work with it? I've come across a couple of cases with my older cameras where currently available batteries weren't quite right. What have been your collective experiences?

Thanks to all who reply.

With best regards,

My K1000 is of 1977 vintage and has Asahi Opt. Co underneath the wind on lever.

It is still running on an A76 battery (which is what I have always run it on) but I believe that the modern equivalent is an LR44.

If you Google A76 Battery you will find that they are still readily available
