Hello, I recently bought a Pentax ME along with a couple lenses, it quickly became my favorite camera over my canon and praktica slrs because it's so small but sturdy. But I'm having trouble getting it to work properly. I know it relies on a battery for the meter and shutter so I replaced them with energizer 357s that are supposed to replace lr44s and it still only fires at the default speed and no meter
. Any help fixing my problem would be really appreciated because I don't want to just throw it to the side of I can help it.

Has it been working correctly for you? Are the battery holder contacts clean? Are the cells in the holder the right way round - negative to the cap?

Everything mechanical is working good. It's something electrical I think. The contacts look perfect. I pulled the bottom plate last night and everything looks good. I'm going to see what else I can find.
