Pentax Spotmatic F

Shouldn't this model have the "F" on the front side of the top plate or did some versions move the "F" to the top next to the rewind lever along with "SP"?

On top, near the rewind. Wide open metering with the proper lenses. The meter is always on, the lens cap serving as a switch. The black switch on the side of the pentaprism which turned on the meter in the Spotmatic is now just for stopping down. Nice cameras altho I like the H3v a little more. Wonderful lenses too. Joe

Yes, it should have SPOTMATIC F written on the front of the camera.
They also have SP F written on the top plate.
AFAIK, it was never made without the F on the front.

That's the way mine is but I saw one on eBay this evening advertised as a Spotmatic F but looking at the very blurred image it looks like a Spotmatic SP II..

I see SPs and SPIIs listed as SP-Fs quite often.
