Perfect glass?

Very interesting. I draw a lesson for myself: maybe, as an amateur, I'm too much picky about the condition of my lenses. I should remember that pros are not so careful with theirs; what's really important is to see a photograph, and then the lens that enables you to take it.
Thanks for the link Victor,

The place where dirt and marks show up is when shooting against backlight ... creates flare and other effects.

I have had two SLR lenses that have had marks on the back elements both bought at very low prices just to see how badly they would perform. Surprise, not too badly at all. Lesson learned. If it is cheap enough it may do well enough for the interum at least.

When I saw "perfect glass" I had just come over from the chatting thread and I was thinking about one that always keeps your beer cold....

Interesting article, thanks for linking. I've got a couple of lenses that have some cruft in them but nothing like that. I guess I'll stop worrying and shoot the darn things.

I kind of like the gradual warming. It allows you to experience the flavor in different ways ... cold beer has less flavor which, as it warms up, grows richer.
