Perfect Rangefinder Transportation Device (Bag)?

Terraclime 100 with Artisan and Artist insert--smaller of the two. I have another I like--I'll have to dig it out from the closet--can't remember it's name.

I think it's more about common sense anyway. If you make it hard for a typical snatcher and are aware of your surroundings (a.k.a. "situational awareness"), they'll move on to an easier mark.

You know, I once was behind some guy from the States, in a London store queue, who actually said, "How much is this in real money?" Now that's behavior that sticks out. We Americans can be really weird sometimes.
 
Billingham Alice for my everyday use. M2 35IV and M3 21SA inside. Or M2 35IV and Rollieflex T sometimes. But mostly M2 35IV only and the weight and size feels juuuuust right that way.
 
An interesting thread. I share some frustrations. I have a Leica 1A with the lovely ERC. I prefer shooting 'naked' but, given the age of the camera (and I cherish it) I feel that I should use a bag with strap. I'm worried that the leather strap will perish and I'll lose the camera!Can anyone suggest a small strapped bag that would suit my purposes?

Yup. 🙂 Bags are vibration or bump sparing storage - as I said, no need to draw attention to the contents.

I seldom carry a bag and shoot with "naked" camera.

I can't recommend a bag, but give some though to something other than a leather strap. Modern materials are often more durable, and, perhaps, more comfortable. If you're really theft-conscious, you don't want a strap that someone can quickly cut through with a blade.

Lastly is a leather bag from an company out of England called Grafea... I'm so in love with this bag it's ridiculous. I bought it second hand, the previous owner sewed some velcro inside to add dividers, I'm sure there's other inserts that would work. This is my everyday bag, it fits both my RF bodies, four lenses and a bunch of random crap. It's comfy and most of all it's stylish as hell, I've gotten more complements while wearing this bag than ever before. Complements don't make my pictures sharper, but it does start conversations which builds a rapport and has let me take pics of strangers easier:

how does one get in your will? 😎

while Disaster_Area is still kickin', i'm happily switching between F-802 and F-2, depending on the "task" (sometimes a laptop, sometimes a bottle of wine)... since we're on the topic, here's a little conspiracy theory for you: the single insert fits an M3 with DR and 12585 so snugly it's scary; the inside dimensions are those of the combo, down to a millimetre, ah-ha! i wonder how that happened... 😉

I use a Think Tank Photo "Urban Disguise 20" bag. The bag itself is wonderfully made of high quality materials. It's been through a lot and it doesn't show it. Typically I have the following in it:

- Body (M8 or Ikon) with lens mounted
- Additional 2-5 lenses
- Film and/or SD cards
- Batteries
- Brush/tissue/solution for cleaning
- Shoulder strap
- Body/lens cap
- Table-top tripod
- Shutter release cable

...and assorted travel documents/passport, iPhone w/headphones, etc.

Yet it's still a TINY bag that weighs rather little for all-day carrying and doesn't scream "camera bag."
