I've watched the Perkeo's for years now and they are usually listed as Perkeo E, and sometimes Perkeo III (rarely) but have never seen one listed as a IIIE. If you want to get the most search results, to cover all the variations, list it as a......
Perkeo E III IIIE. That will cover all the possible ways that buyers may search for the model.
My rules for eBay listings are simple:
1) List to close from 6-7 PM Pacific Mountain time.
2) List at least a seven day auction
3) List to span a full (NON HOLIDAY) weekend
4)Time the auction to close on the time I mentioned on midweek days, ie. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
5) I would list a Perkeo in Folding Cameras, and if expecting big dollars, also in a second category of "other medium format".
6) Listing in a second category doubles posting fees, BUT may seriously increase search hits.
7) Short concise description and 5-6 very good pictures with supersize options.
8) AND MOST IMPORTANT... use a low starting price and use a reserve to protect your investment. Reserve the lowest price you will sell for. There is a lot of controversy on using a high starting price and I can prove through all my data that high starting prices kill bidding, which you must have during the auction to get any kind of high price at the end. I generally use $1.00 to start and my lowest protected price as a reserve.
By closing during the suggested time of the day, you will be covering from 6PM on the west Coast to 10PM on the East Coast.
I've done about 500 transactions on eBay in the past few years. Most were cameras and camera equipment. I track my purchase and sales data closely, and get the best results on sales as noted above.
I get the best results on purchasing on eBay by doing the opposite of the above points. In fact, all my best buys (lowest purchase prices) have been on weekends and favoring Sunday. Never list to close when prices are down. (weekends)
