I was honestly expecting photos of the usual landmarks and cliches but there were some really and original photos in there. The portraits and people photos are great.

Some good images, but could use even more editing if it was meant to be as a showcase.

Seems like a waste of the M9 to force black and white images out of the excellent color that the camera produces by default.

What! A "waste" to use the M9 for b&w photography?
Also, do you guys happen to know which version it is of the Lux 35mm?

Taking a color image created by a digital camera and post-processing it to resemble a traditional black and white photograph just strikes me as bogus. If you want traditional, use film, which produces a higher quality black and white image.

I wasn't all that impressed with Turney's photos from Lisbon. You can find much better here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ruipalha/

Why even mess around... Let's just paint, right?
I would assume he was shooting with the FLE, as according to the TOP post (http://theonlinephotographer.typepad.com/the_online_photographer/2011/09/in-love-with-lisbon.html) Leica provided the camera... But who knows?
They're nice pictures... I like Peter's work whatever he shoots with.

Do you consider it bogus to leave a digital image in color or just if you convert it into black & white?

The M9 produces beautiful color by default.
