Petri Blue Magic Scope ??

I found the above RF hidden in a closet at my old folks' home.
No manual, nothing.. searched the internet.. couldn't find anything.
Maybe someone here?

It looks like a 7, but not quite..
Not sure if it needs a battery for metering, or maybe no meter at all..

anyone?

I checked my Collector's guide to Kuribayashi-Petri Cameras and they don't list this model. I have however seen one or two on E**y and they are virtually the same as the Petri 7S. No battery, selenium cell around the lens I believe. Fairly simple to use, nice results. If I can find more, I'll be sure to post for you. Curt.

I don't see any selenium around the lens though.
it states a 45mm f/2.8 C (red colored) Petri on the lens
In very small letters, under the Blue magic scope text it says "color corrected super"

Anyway, I loaded it with a roll of B&W film, I guess I'll have to see what comes out.

I'll post an image later today. It looks most like one of the Petri 7 models, but not quite. No selenium for instance, and the viewer/RF is blue, not green.
 
According to the "Collector's Guide to Petri Cameras' the Petri Touch 1962- very rare was (1) a 35mm rangefinder camera introduced in December 1962 (2) styled similar to the Petri 7S (3) fitted with a 45mm f2.8 Petri lens and Carperu V shutter (4) without a built-in light meter.
No clue is given to indicate the reason behind the Touch or Blue Scope name. Apparently this model was an inexpensive alternative to the Petri 7S."
So there you have it, I knew I'd seen reference to this camera somewhere. Hope this helps.

At the (outside) bottom of the (45mm f/2.8) lens, it states "Petri V"
and I can't see any sign of a light meter...

Hi, Marco, I will be interested in the pics you take with the blue magic. I have one coming and it seems to be called BLue Magic Scope -also called Touch made in 1962 for competing with less expensive competition. A short lived run. Not to see many around. One source says it was a (or one of the) 50th anniversary camera of Petri.
Please post the pic(s) if you have any yet. THanks, hmotte P.S. the V is for the shutter model. It is a slightly knocked down version of the 7 and 7s. I have them also. Love the 7s, it takes super pics. Never needs batteries either, unlike my Yashicas with the battery fixes.P.S.2; No meter on this blue magic. No selenium.
should make life interesting, kinda like my FED3.
