Greetings.
I have a Phlips PF712E red lamp, new, boxed.
Is it OK to use it as my only darkroom "safelight" for printing on and developing Ilford Multigrade IV RC paper, at a distance of 5ft (1,5m) above the developer tray?
I know the paper manufacturer suggest an 902 lamp but, still, what could go "wrong" with the 712?
Thank you.

It should work without problems. But you can perform an easy test
with some coins (you may want to preflash the paper to), just to be
sure.
