Should we try one soon now that the weather is nice?

Sounds good to me! You guys pick the venue. I don't want to be accused of selecting an overpriced location again.

Let's just make sure that they have a nice beer selection.

Frankford Hall is nice but last time I went I left smelling like campfire.
The Ugly American is nice. It's on Federal and Front. Quiet, good food, cheap Maker's Mark.

Holy cow, that's a huge URL.

Makers Mark sounds good. Ugly American maybe next Saturday the 28th? or May 5th?

I'll be a foul weather friend--there if it's raining. If not, I'll probably be at some great event shooting or riding in antique cars.

I won't be able to make it in April. I'm casting my vote for a May meeting.

I'll be around early May, though later in the month it'll be summer vacation time.

Ben, maybe May 5th would work, as at least two people are calling for May.

May 5 or 6 works for me. Call we try to pick a gathering spot that's not too remote from public trans?

Jeff, how about the Hard Rock Cafe? Close to Market East...
That weekend also works for me.

I'm trying to think of places that have good seating for everyone.
Nodding Head on Sansom St. maybe, they brew their own beer and the food is alright.
Good Dog has great food but the seating is tight.
Any other suggestions guys?

The Hard Rock works for me, Al! Let's see how everyone else feels.

Everything I can think of is either outside of center city and a bit off the beaten path:
Fiume, Local 44, Frankford Hall, Dock St, Sidecar, Bishop's Collar, the bar/pizza place on Fairmount near Eastern State Penn.
or too expensive:
Eulogy, Monks, (some of the above could be in this list)
There's always the Dark Horse. I do love Guinness.
Ten Stone has space but I'm not a fan really.
There's a decent Mexican place down near 12th and Passyunk that has a great margarita pitcher deal and a lot of space. For that matter, there's also the place on 15th and South for tequila and lime juice.
I'm just throwing stuff out there. Heck, if this job thing happens in NYC I may not be able to attend anyway but if I'm in town, I can make it wherever as long as it's not in the northeast.

Nodding Head sounds good as well. It's on Sansom Street and centrally located and always has plenty of seating. It also has a nice beer selection.

Hi all,
I'd like to attend but unfortunately the 5th won't work for me, although the 6th is good. Any location is fine for me. If you meet on the 5th that's cool and I'll try to make the next one.
Cheers,
Jeff

This weekend weather supposed to be ghastly. Perfect for a bar meeting. Anyone up for turning this into a swap meet? I have a number of things to sell, but shipping for many of the items would exceed the value.

In the case of a swap, I have a stack of Leica magazines about 6" thick that someone can buy off of me for the cost of one beer.
If they don't go to someone in Philly, I'll put them up on the RFF classifieds for free + postage.
